  • What You Told Us about the Draft Green Gully Linear Park Management Plan


    The consultation on the Draft Green Gully Linear Park Management Plan is now closed. The draft was on public exhibition for a 6 week period from Monday 30 June – Monday 11 August 2014, during which time a survey invited community responses on the draft plan.

    During the period of public exhibition, a total of 74 submissions were received by Council, including 67 survey forms, 5 written submissions and 2 phone conversations.

    Survey results indicate that the majority of the recommendations in the Draft Green Gully Linear Park Management Plan were supported by the community, or received no objections.

    The supported recommendations include the improved links between the Green Gully Linear Park links with the Main Yarra Trail, upgrade to the play space and fitness equipment, as well as support for additional planting, seating and rubbish bins at the site. Other issues were raised, in particular with regards to Jenkins Park, which have been noted and will now be considered further by Council.

  • Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre Redevelopment 2014

    In 2006 Council endorsed a Master Plan for the Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre, to guide the future planning and provision of aquatic and leisure services, programs and facilities at the Centre.

    The redevelopment of the Centre in Williamson’s Road Doncaster is now well underway, with stages 1 - 3A already completed.

    In August 2014, Council will commence the implementation of Stages 4 -6 of the Master Plan. The implementation will be a 20 month process and is expected to be completed by May 2016.

  • Tom Kelly Athletics Track at Rieschiecks Reserve

    The naming of the Tom Kelly Athletics Track at Rieschiecks Reserve has now been approved by Council and the Doncaster Athletics Club will be conducting an official naming ceremony, in conjunction with the 2014 5000m State Title on Thursday 6 November from 5pm. For more details about the event please contact Doncaster Athletics Club  on doncaster.athletics@gmail.com
